Former Super Eagles first-choice goalkeeper, Peter Rufai, has died.
Rufai died on Thursday after a long battle with illness. He was 61 years.
Fondly known as Dodomayana, he was widely considered one of the best goalkeepers Nigeria has ever produced.
Throughout his two-decade career, Rufai played in Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain.
He also featured for Nigeria in two World Cups and two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.
Rufaiâs passing coincides with a day the football world is mourning Liverpool forward, Diogo Jota.
Jota lost his life in a car accident in Spain earlier today, along with his brother.
