Gunmen believed to be herdsmen have once again attacked the Otobi-Akpa community in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State, killing at least four residents in a midnight assault.
It was learned that the attackers, reportedly heavily armed, stormed the community at about 12:00 a.m. on Tuesday, firing shots indiscriminately and causing residents to run for safety.
The attack, which went on for several hours, led to the deaths of Hon. Ochi Ayedu, Eje Uzu, Alinko, and Achibi, while several other residents remain missing as at the time of filing this report.
This recent attack comes only months after a deadly incident in the same Otobi-Akpa community, where no fewer than 13 people were killed, many others were injured or declared missing, and over 50 houses were burnt.
