A High Court in Lafia, Nasarawa State Nigeria has sentenced Oluwatimileyin Ajayi to death by hanging for killing a National Youth Service Corps member, Salome Adaidu.
Justice Simon Aboki delivered the judgment on Thursday 26 June and found Timileyin Ajayi guilty of culpable homicide. The court confirmed that Ajayi deliberately killed and dismembered the victim.
He was convicted on a one-count charge of culpable homicide under Section 221 of the Penal Code, which applies in Northern Nigeria and carries the death penalty.
