Bayero University, Kano (BUK), has confirmed the death of Hajiya Hadiza Attahiru Jega, the wife of the former Vice-Chancellor of the university and former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega.
The university, in a statement posted on its official social media page on Sunday, “announce the passing of Hajiya Hadiza Attahiru Jega.”
BUK did not reveal the cause of death but extended prayers and condolences to the family.
It also stated that her Janazah prayer would be held immediately after Zuhr prayer at the National Mosque in Abuja on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
The university prayed for the deceased, asking Allah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her eternal rest.
